(Ballard) Atlantic placed four runners in the top twenty and finished third in the team race in the Class B Division at the Ballard Cross County Meet on Monday. Madrid won the meet by the criteria rule with 43-points. Solon finished second with 43-points, Atlantic, third, 82, and Nodaway Valley, finished fourth, with 102-points.
Craig Alan Becker finished third overall for the Trojans in a time of 16.48.80. Drew Engler was 13th, in 18:16.30, Ethan Williams, 17th, 18:26.60, Zane Berg, 18th, 18:27.70, and Tryell Williams rounded out the team score for Atlantic in 31st place in a time of 19:58.70. Isaac Altman was 42nd, and Bennett Whetstone was 46th.
Toby Bower and Doug Berg posted top-ten finishes to lead Nodaway Valley. Bower finished seventh, in a time of 18:04.70, and Berg was ninth in 18:08.60. Ben Breheny, Malachi Broers, and Gavin Shoemaker figured in the scoring as well. Breheny was 12th, in 18:15.50, Broers was 34th in a clocking of 20:19.40. and Shoemaker finished 40th in a time of 20:50.00. Jaxon Christensen and Jevin Christensen finished 61st and 74th respectively.
