(Red Oak) The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors at Tuesday’s meeting discussed the $125,000 allocated to them from the CARES Act.
Montgomery County Auditor Stephanie Burke says department heads submitted funding requests and the board is reviewing the proposals to decide what to submit. Burke says many of the requests have to do with working remotely from home. “Another item we’ve been looking at is running fiber in the courthouse,” said Burke. “Fiber would allow phone systems at home for remote meetings.”
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act., is a $2.2 trillion economic stimulus bill passed by Congress and signed in law by President Trump this past March in response to the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S.
