(Griswold) From up and coming CAM to traditional power Fremont-Mills, the Griswold football schedule isn’t easing up.
Being in better shape is one of the priorities as the Tigers head into Week 2. Coach Chase Wallace says, “After Week 1 the first thing they said was we need to get in even better shape and I agreed. Everyday we’ve been pushing them a little harder at the end of practice.
While the team lost a 60-8 matchup with CAM last Friday night, they did show some good signs. “With a new offense that we’d never ran before I thought the guys executed pretty well. We had some success running the ball up the middle, we just struggled to get outside. One thing I was really proud of was the team sticking together. They didn’t give up and they fought to the end.”
They’ll have to do several things well to hang in their against top ten rated Fremont-Mills. “They get off the ball really fast. Just watching their tape they are fast on the offensive and defensive line. It’s going to be a challenge for us up front. Against CAM we missed a lot of tackles so we are working to do our job and take care of our own responsibilities.” Coach Wallace says the team has shown great focus in practice.
