(Greenfield) Nathan Russell is on track to do some big things before his Nodaway Valley football career comes to an end.
The junior quarterback was thrust into a starting role late in his freshman season and flourished as a sophomore. Russell made the most of a pass happy system last year with 1,886 yards. He ranked 4th in class A in passing yardage. Russell is off to a solid start to his junior season with 187 yards in a Week 0 loss to SW Valley and 196 yards in a Week 1 win over West Central Valley. Russell threw three TD passes last week.
He knows the Mount Ayr defense will provide a big test. The Wolverines take on the Raiders in the Battle for the Rock this Friday night. The game will air on 96.5 FM. Russell will be a special guest on KSOM’s In the Huddle program. His interview can be heard below:
