(Griswold) Griswold cross country is working to build their roster as the season opener approaches.
The Tigers will start the year Tuesday at Logan-Magnolia. They have two boys runners. Coach Chris Hamilton says, “Jeremy Sheeder ran last year and I know he medaled in at least one meet. It seems like he has some potential to medal quite a bit and he’s really our only experienced runner on the entire team. It’ll be great to see how he leads us. Then we also have Kyler Navarro and he’s probably our strongest runner, but it’s going to be a process. I don’t know if we know what to expect right away.”
The girls team is still growing and may not look the same each meet. “Maddy Main has been coming every then we have Bailey Baucom. She’s also a sophomore in her first year out. Hope Ogg is a senior that will help fill the roster. Grace Cook is also in volleyball, so we don’t know how much we’ll get her, but hopefully as much as possible.”
Coach Hamilton is still hoping to add some more runners in order to comprise a team score. He stresses he’ll work around other schedules if athletes want to dual sport.
