(Essex) The Page County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a single vehicle accident in the 1400 block of 140th Street approximately six miles east of Essex Wednesday evening.
The investigation showed that 33-year-old Michael Jason Mann of Dallas, Iowa, was operating a 2014 Ford Focus eastbound on 140th Street when he swerved to miss a deer, overcorrected, struck a bridge rail, and then came to rest on the east side of the bridge.
Mann was uninjured.
The vehicle sustained an estimated $5,000 in damage. The bridge sustained approximately $12,000 in damage.
The Page County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Essex Fire and Rescue.
No charges were issued at the scene.
