(Audubon) KSOM’s In the Huddle pregame show on Friday nights is unveiling a new segment this year. We’ll be going inside the huddle with comments from the starting quarterback of one of our area teams each week.
This Friday night our KSOM broadcast is Audubon hosting Exira-EHK so we are joined by Wheeler junior Gavin Smith. While it’s Smith’s first year as the starting quarterback, he saw a lot of varsity action last year while splitting duties with Skyler Schultes. Smith passed for a team best 846 yards last season. He had 14 touchdown throws and also ran for 11 TD’s.
Audubon coach Sean Birks has described Smith as a very knowledgeable quarterback. The Wheelers open the season this Friday at home against Exira-EHK in a game that will air on KSOM.
