(Atlantic) The Atlantic School Board this past week approved the contract for the Head Girls’ Soccer Coaching job to longtime assistant Dan Vargason. The position opened up after the departure of Jordan Newberg, who accepted an administrative position in the Shenandoah Community School District.
“I’m thrilled to have the position,” said Vargason. “Jordan brought the program to the right spot this past spring, and we were excited about the potential success of our team. We had an excellent line-up, and the team chemistry was there, but unfortunately, we didn’t get to play.
“But we bring back a lot of talented players with work ethic,” said Vargason. “I look forward to helping them reach their goals this spring. We want kids who work hard and strive to continue building a culture that invites everyone to be a part of it.”
This isn’t Coach Vargason’s first rodeo as a head coach. He is also the Head Boy’s and Girl’s Cross Country Coach, and Head Girls Basketball Coach.
