(Atlantic) Preseason practice begins one week from today for fall sports across Iowa. Atlantic Head Football Coach Mike McDermott realizes, along with everyone else, that things will have to be managed differently because of the guidelines of COVID-19. The schedules have changed, but the opening day of preseason camp hasn’t.
The Trojans have just two home games; the remaining five games are on the road.
Coach McDermott admits the revised schedule changes things a little bit, especially now that all teams make the playoffs.
McDermott says the main concern right now is safety, which includes getting the players in the proper physical condition.;
Atlantic opens the season on August 28 at Underwood, travel to Kuemper on September 4, head to Greene County on September 11, and host Clarinda at the newly renovated Trojan Football Field on September 18.
