(Atlantic) Republican Third Congressional District Candidate David Young made a campaign stop at the Craig and Jane Becker farm on Saturday morning.
Young says one of his goals is to revive the nation’s economy that was thriving before COVID-19 struck. He believes low taxation, low regulations, and certainty brought the country to one of the strongest economies in five decades before the virus hit the nation. He says government officials at the state and federal level and forced to make some adjustments, which shut some things down.
Young says one thing he’s learned from COVID-19 is the country is too dependent on China.to manufacture our drugs, antibiotics, and PPE, while at the same time carrying out Phase I of the China trade deal.
David Young represented the 3rd congressional district for two-terms before Cindy Axne ended his representation in 2018. Young says running against Congresswoman Axne is different this time around in a couple of ways, because his opponent now has a record.
Young also questioned Axne’s voting record. The House passed a rule allowing members to give their votes to other members. Young claims the Congresswoman dealt some of her votes to a fellow democrat from Baltimore, Maryland.
David Young says if elected, he plans to represent the Third District by listening and leading and voting.
David Young is a seventh-generation Iowan, born and raised in the Third Congressional District, which includes sixteen counties covering the southwest corner of the state and a portion of central Iowa.
