(Hamburg) Three people were hurt in a two-vehicle accident in Fremont County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at around 5:06 p.m. on Highway 275 south of 230th Street. Authorities identified the injured persons as; 16-year old Jeryn Parmer, of Hamburg, a 14-year old from Hamburg, and 65-year old Eveylyn Thompson of Sidney.
State Police say a 2006 Nissan Quest driven by Parmer was northbound on Highway 275 and hydroplaned. The Nissan drifted to the east shoulder, Parmer overcorrected which caused the car to slide sideways across the centerline and struck a southbound 2015 Nissan Altima driven by Thompson.
Hamburg Rescue transported Parmer and Thompson to Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg. Sidney Rescue transferred the 14-year old to Children’s St. Mary’s Hospital.
The accident remains under investigation.
