(Guthrie County) A batch of COVID-19 tests conducted in Guthrie County last week came back with four false positives, and one false negative according to the State Hygienic Lab.
Guthrie County Public Health Director Jotham Arber says about 40 individuals attending workouts at West Central Valley School’s weight room were exposed to a positive case of COVID-19.
Arber says all 40 individuals were tested on July 20. He admitted the results didn’t match with other cases in other household contacts. Arber’s investigation was correct. The State Hygienic Lab confirmed a batch of the tests was not calibrated correctly.

Arber says four positive cases were confirmed, including two adults and two children.
Jotham says Guthrie County Public Health along with the State Hygienic lab make every effort to scrutinize results to ensure their validity. He says if they find results that are inaccurate they will always work to correct them and inform the public.
