(Montgomery Co.) A Villisca man was injured in a rollover accident this (Monday) morning.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a single-vehicle rollover accident on 110th Street, west of Pilot Grove Park at approximately 7:30 a.m. Upon arrival, a white 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 was facing southeast in the south ditch of 110th Street approximately ¼ mile west of Q Avenue. A pickup box trailer and well derrick equipment were located in the north ditch of 110th.
The Dodge, owned by Reynolds Drilling and operated by 67-year-old Michael Reynolds, was being driven westbound on 110th. Reynolds indicated that for reasons unknown, the trailer had begun to sway and fishtail. Reynolds left the road on the north side of the roadway and lost control, causing the truck to skid across 110th to the southwest where it entered the ditch and rolled, coming to rest on its wheels facing to the southeast. The trailer had become dislodged when the truck left the roadway and continued in the north ditch where the derrick equipment that had been in the trailer came free and was located to the east of the trailer’s final resting place in the north ditch.
Reynolds was located in the vehicle by personnel from Red Oak Fire and Rescue. The Grant, Elliott and Villisca Fire Departments assisted with the removal of Reynolds from the vehicle.
Reynolds was transported by Medical Helicopter to University of Nebraska Medical Center with suspected serious injuries. The 2011 Dodge sustained an estimated $18,000 damage and is considered a total loss along with the trailer and well equipment it had been towing.
