(Des Moines) Iowa health officials say the number of confirmed positive coronavirus cases identified in the state increased by 389 on Friday. That brings the state’s total known positive cases to nearly 30,500. Three more coronavirus deaths also were reported Friday. That brings the confirmed death toll to 720 since the outbreak began.
According to the coronavirus.iowa.gov website, out of the 327,935 tests completed, 295,507 tests are negative for a positivity rate of 9.4%. The IDPH says 7,510 cases had pre-existing conditions, 15,760, had no pre-existing conditions, and 7,652, pre-existing conditions are unknown.
Statewide, 134 patients are hospitalized; 40-patients in ICU, 18 individuals hospitalized in the past 24 hours, and 16 are on ventilators.
