(Atlantic) A Pottawattamie County man, who works in Atlantic, has been donating cookies, donuts and other items to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, Atlantic Police Department, Atlantic Fire Department, and the ambulance crew each season over the past couple of years as a way to say thank you.
“They do this day in and day out and they don’t get any recognition for it and just to get a little bit of something, something so simple, you ought to see their faces… and to me it’s like being Santa Claus, you get a good ‘Boy, I feel better now’.”
The gentleman, who would like to remain anonymous since he was not doing this for notoriety, is retiring in a couple of days and since he won’t be in the community as often, he is hoping someone will take over and continue to donate items.
