(Greenfield) The Greenfield City Council approved a three-percent salary and wage increase for all City employees for 2021.
Greenfield City Clerk Becky Haase says the City budgeted in the increase when finalizing the fiscal year 2021 budget. “As an employee, we’re all very grateful,” said Haase. “During these times, it’s hard to know what the right thing to do is.”
The City also approved adding shade shelters at the Greenfield Sports Complex. Haase says the Adair County Fitness received some donations and wanted to use the funds for this project.
“The Sports Complex is wide open and gets pretty warm during baseball and softball games,” said Haase. “Someone donated money for one shelter, and Greenfield Lumber donated money for the other shelter.”
The Council also set a public hearing for June 22, at 6:30 p.m., on a loan agreement for the nearly $1.4 million street improvement project.
