Audubon 25, Riverside 2
Skyler Schultes pitched two solid innings and went 3/4 at the plate. The senior struck out five batters and allowed two hits. Eric Hermansen finished things out with two shutout innings of relief. Gavin Smith was credited with a triple and drove in four runs. Derek Porsch had a three run double. Ten different Wheelers had a hit. They walked nine times and had 15 hits. Ethan Reicks posted a pair of hits for Riverside.
CAM 15, Exira-EHK 1
Lane Spieker and Colby Rich each hit home runs. Jacob Holste was 2/3 and scored three runs. Joe Kaufman and Kolby Nelson had three hits each. Holste, Nelson, and Nate Hensley all finished with 2 RBI each. Spieker and Cade Ticknor combined to strike out seven batters over five innings while Kolby Nelson tossed one scoreless frame.
East Mills 25, Griswold 1
The Tigers had a 3/3 outing from Cale Swain in the loss. Derek Mueller contributed a 2/3 stat line with an RBI. Zander Luft scored the team’s only run and reached base twice with a walk and a hit by pitch.
Lewis Central 12, Atlantic 2
Atlantic scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning to temporarily stave off the 10-run rule, but LC scored one in the bottom of the 5th to end it. Brody O’Brien had two of the team’s four hits while Colin Mullenix and Brendan Atkinson each added singles.
St. Albert 8, Harlan 3
Harlan managed five hits in the season opening setback. The biggest was an Isaiah Ahrenholtz solo homer. Luke Musich posted a double while Brenden Bartley, Connor Bruck, and Trey Gross all had singles. Joey Moser pitched two innings and Alex Monson went four frames on the mound.
Tri-Center 9, AHSTW 3
Brody Langer had two of the Viking’s four hits. Joel Sampson and Sam Porter each added singles. Porter and Clayton Akers each drove in a run. Porter took the loss on the mound, but Akers came in and tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief.
Winterset 9, Nodaway Valley 3
Mason Mather posted two hits for the Wolverines. Caelen DeVault was 1/3 with two runs driven in. Boston DeVault, Austin Wilson, and Tyler Vandewater each had one hit.
