(Atlantic) The Atlantic Parks and Recreation Board discussed painting the Sunnyside Pool at their meeting Monday evening.
Atlantic Parks and Recreation Director Bryant Rasmussen said the original bids for the pool painting were coming in just south of $60,000 and then when they decided to close the pool he contacted ACCO to see if they could get in on the pool painting a little sooner and they dropped the bid down to $39,000.
Rasmussen did ask the Board about whether they thought they should go ahead and open the pool now that Governor Reynolds has opened more things up or if they should just stay closed and get the pool painting done.
Rasmussen said since they budgeted for the pool painting at $60,000, and if they get it at $39,000, then they can look at other things to kind of update the pool to make it more appealing for next year.
Rasmussen also mentioned to the Board that fireworks in the city parks were an issue last year.
Rasmussen said he is going to go make some signs to put in the parks to let the public know that this is something that will not be allowed.
