(Atlantic) The Iowa Department of Transportation has several area road construction projects underway, and several more scheduled this summer.
Scott Suhr, DOT District Planner for southwest Iowa says a bridge replacement project continues on Highway 92 east of Greenfield which started two-months ago and a resurfacing project on Highway 71 north of Audubon into Carroll County.
Suhr says progress is being made on both these projects despite the guidelines regarding COVID-19. “Construction crews are taking the necessary steps to practice social distancing as much as they can, good hygiene, gloves and face covers when needed,” said Suhr. “They’re doing what they need to do, and so far we haven’t had any issues that I’m aware of.”
Suhr says construction crews are currently resurfacing Highway 30 in Harrison County between Missouri Valley and Logan. He says the patching is done and resurfacing will occur shortly.
Suhr says projects are scheduled this summer on Highway 59 from G30 north to Avoca, and resurfacing projects on the Interstate 80 ramps near Walnut, Avoca, and Shelby. The interchanges won’t be completely closed.
