(Anita) The Food Bank of the Heartland and the Anita Food Pantry are teaming up to offer a drive-through mobile Food Pantry on Monday, June 22, at the CAM High School from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., or as supplies last.
Pam Miller Treasurer for the Anita Food Pantry is impressed with the public outpouring of generosity.
“It amazing the number of people that have donated to the food pantry,” said Miller. “I find food and cash donations in my car, which is the nice thing about living in a small town, because people know what you drive.”
Miller says it’s not just individuals donating; companies have stepped up as well, in particular WesTEl and Black Hills Utilities.
A mobile Food Pantry is a traveling food pantry that delivers food directly to families in need for a one-day distribution. The mobile pantry is available free of charge. Visitors need to stay in their vehicles with the trunk open. The attendants will load the pre-packed boxes in the trunk of the car.
Anyone in need is welcome. No documentation is needed.
