(Des Moines) A storm system packing high winds and heavy rains swept through southwest Iowa on Tuesday evening.
Trained weather spotters reported 65-mile per hour winds in Griswold at 9:38 p.m., and a 60-mile per hour wind gust two miles southeast of Glenwood.
The National Weather Service issued severe thunderstorm warnings for Fremont, Mills, Page, Montgomery, Adams, Pottawattamie, and Adair counties.
A flash flood watch remained in effect until 7:00 a.m. for the southwest counties south of Interstate 80.
