(Guthrie Center) The Guthrie County Courthouse will be opening back up to the public on Friday, June 12th.
Guthrie County Auditor Dani Fink said Public Health and Environmental Health Director Jotham Arber spoke to the Board of Supervisors this morning about the considerations for opening the Courthouse and County Facilities.
“He said today is day four of no new cases of COVID-19 in Guthrie County, they currently have no one in the hospital related to COVID-19. He emphasized that we’re not through the pandemic, but there is a plateau in cases and he thinks that it’s a good idea to go ahead and allow the Courthouse to open their doors,” explained Fink.
Fink said plexiglass has been installed in front of the windows in all of the courthouse offices and they will continue with safety measures including hand sanitizer stations, screenings, and temperature checks.
Fink said although the Courthouse is opening on Friday, there may be some departments that decide to continue with appointment only, so it suggested that if any individual needs to come in to conduct business they should call ahead to find out if they need an appointment or not.
