(Des Moines) Iowa Department of Public Health officials are reporting five more deaths from COVID-19 in Iowa, and 151 new positive cases. As of early Saturday afternoon the Iowa Department of Public Health said the news cases brought the statewide total to 21,438. As of 9:30 a.m. Sunday, there were 21,589 postive cases.
There have now been 602 deaths, 269 patients currently are hospitalized, with 86 listed in intensive care and 54 on ventilators. There were 22 patients admitted in the last 24 hours. Hospitalization data continues to show flat or downward trends since an apparent peak around May.
