(Maryville, Mo.) Harlan alum and Northwest Missouri State track and field standout Marcus Klein earned a spot on the 2020 Academic All-District® Men’s Track & Field / Cross Country Team, selected by CoSIDA.
CoSIDA recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Klein posteda 3.98 grade point average in mathematics. In this past season’s indoor campaign, Klein jumped 7.45 meters to earn the 10th-best jump in the nation. His best leap of the year came at the Gorilla Classic on Feb. 14. Klein is a two-time indoor national championship qualifier. Klein secured All-America honors in the long jump at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track & field/cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District® will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced from June 22-25.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
