(Adair) The next KSOM Classic Broadcast on the schedule is Adair-Casey topping Murray 85-54 during their undefeated regular season in 2013.
The Bombers had gone 8-2 the season prior and returned a lot of talent. Head Coach Wade Anderson announced before the season that it would be his last year with the program. Emmitt Wheatley recalls that news providing even more fuel to the fire. “Every lift, every workout became more important because it was the last time we were going to spend together. Every game was more emotional because you knew you were getting closer to the end.”
Wheatley says a loss to Murray in the 2012 playoffs was his first glimpse at how important games of that magnitude were and helped shape him as an athlete. Murray loaded up to stop the run in the game we’ll replay this Friday. That allowed Wheatley to score three touchdowns on four catches for 206 yards. As he points out the offensive line played a big part in everything. “It helps when you have guys like Logan Dinkla, Chris Draman, Dillon Suhr, and Cole Reha. Those guys don’t get enough credit, it was a really special group.”
6:00 p.m. on Friday evening is when the re-air will take place.
