(Red Oak) Red Oak Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of East Summit and Sunny Slope Drive.
Police say the accident happened at 6:36 p.m. on Saturday when a 1999 Chevy Silverado driven by 30-year old Megan Waltz of Lorimor rear-ended a 2015 Nissan Versa driven by 17-year old Alissa Rice of Red Oak. Rice was stopped at the stop sign on Summit Street, waiting to turn left when the collision occurred. No one was injured.
Officers cited Waltz for following too close. The Nissan was a total loss. The pickup received $1,000 damage.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Red Oak Rescue, and the Red Oak Fire Department assisted the Red Oak Police Department at the scene.
