(Sioux City) A project to replace the bridge on Iowa 141 at Skunk Creek and grade the roadway to address snow drifting issues between Ute and Mapleton requires closing the roadway to traffic beginning on Monday morning, June 1, until late fall 2020, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 3 Office.
During this closure, motorists will be directed around the work zone using Monona County roads L-32 and E-34.
Petersen Contractors, Inc. of Reinbeck is the prime contractor of this $5,517,956Â project.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
