(Exira) Graduation plans at Exira-EHK have hit another snag, prompting a two week delay.
Superintendent Trevor Miller says in a news release the new date for graduation festivities to be held is now on Sunday, May 31st. A survey of parents and seniors resulted in an overwhelming choice to have a parade and drive-through ceremony.
“get a picture right in front of our back drop and drive off.”
The original date was May 17th. The Department of Public Health in Audubon has stated that there should be no face-to-face ceremony because of the restricted amount of people in one location. Students may decorate their cars and bring no more than four family members. The lineup starts at the Elementary Building in Exira at 12:45 p.m. and the parade begins at 1:00. The parade will travel through Exira, Brayton, Kimballton, and Elk Horn, ending at the high school.
Each student will exit their car, one at a time with their family. A diploma will be handed out and each family will be given about five minutes for photos before being asked to get back in their cars and drive off.
A rain date is penciled in for June 20th.
