(Missouri Valley) A Missouri Valley man was injured in an accident at a gas station Tuesday morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says 43-year-old Shawn Squier was transported to Bergan Mercy in Omaha by Lifenet Helicopter after he was struck by a diesel pump. According to the report, 31-year-old Justin Windrum, of Omaha, Nebraska, driving a 2015 Buick Enclave, stopped at the gas pump at Taylor Quick Pick in Missouri Valley and then accelerated forward and struck the diesel pump on the west side of the parking lot. The diesel pump then struck employee Shawn Squier. Squier received serious head injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Missouri Valley Police Department and Missouri Valley Fire & Rescue.
