(Des Moines) Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced today 467 new positive cases of COVID-19, for a total of 6,843 positive cases.
93 percent of today’s positive cases are from the 22 counties where restrictions remain in place.
12 additional deaths have been reported, for a total of 148.
“We know that COVID-19 poses the most risk of severe illness for older and elderly adults and those with pre-existing health conditions and the vast majority of deaths in Iowa continue to be among this very vulnerable population” said Kim Reynolds.
There are 1,047 new negative cases for a total of 34,494.
1,514 tests were run yesterday and a total of 41,337 Iowans have been tested.
The State Hygienic lab has testing capacity of 4,188 tests.
2,428 Iowans that were diagnosed with COVID-19 have recovered, for a recovery rate of 35 percent
