(Elk Horn) Seniors at Exira-EHK high school were given three options to vote on for a graduation ceremony.
Superintendent Trevor Miller outlines the three choices to pick from. “One was to postpone it to a date later in June, one was a virtual one, or do a parade drive-through one.”
Ultimately they decided on a combination of ideas. “Next week we are going to have them come in with their cap and gown individually with a set time and can have one or two parents. They’ll walk through and we’ll film like they are getting their diploma. That will be aired May 17th on Spartan Media and we’ll have all of our speeches spliced in their as well.”
A graduation parade will also take place. “We are going to do a parade through the different communities and then a drive-through graduation. Each car will be lined up and can’t get out until they are waved through. We’ll have the Exira-EHK backdrop where they will get out, get their diploma, take a picture, and drive off.”
May 17th is the date for the Exira-EHK graduation festivities.
