(Anita) Two people suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi and a van on Interstate 80 in Cass County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened on Friday at 10:51 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 near the 64-mile marker. The two people injured are identified as 60-year old Forzay Wilson and 52-year old Barbara Brinson, both from Cedar Rapids.
According to the report, Brinson driving an eastbound 2002 Chrysler Town and Country Van in the right lane struck a 2020 Freightliner semi driven by 33-year old Harl Heydenreich of Glendale, Arizona. Brinson veered into the left lane to allow for the semi merging onto the Interstate. For some unknown reason, Brinson lost control of the van striking the semi. The Chrysler van left the roadway and came to rest in the east ditch. The semi came to rest on the shoulder.
LifeNet transported Wilson to the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Anita Rescue transported Brinson to the Cass County Memorial Hospital.
