(Atlantic) On April 12, it was announced a case of novel coronavirus had been confirmed in Cass County. Thursday, Cass County Public Health officials happily announced the patient, John Stokes had recovered.
Stokes tells KSOM/KS95 News he contracted the virus while on a visit out of state.
Stokes says his symptoms were much like the flu.
Stokes said when he came back to Atlantic, the most comfortable he felt was sitting in his chair with his head down.
Stokes says even though it was a disruption with this being their first case of COVID-19 in Cass County, the CCHS hospital staff were more than willing to take care of him.
John Stokes is healthy again and is scheduled to go back to work on Monday.
Many residents may be wondering if they were potentially exposed to COVI-19 through John Stokes. Cass County Public Health Director Beth Olsen said through their investigation, they didn’t find any significant risk to the public. If they had, they would contact individuals one-on-one. In this case, it wasn’t necessary.
