(Audubon) May 1st is the application deadline for a Community Development Block Grant in Audubon.
The city is moving forward with the project to enhance the exteriors of six homes and addressed several related matters at their meeting earlier this week. Mayor Barb Jacobsen says, “We had several things that had to be approved to go with that grant application. We’ve had 29 applicants already and we can only do six projects so we’ll have some some type of a rating system to see who qualifies to be part of that.”
Jacobsen says Graham Smith has been hired as a full time police officer. “He’ll start almost right away in his training and will hopefully get to the academy sometime before fall.”
The council also approved the purchase of some cold water rescue equipment for the fire department.
