2019 Spring Sports
Track
Griswold placed 3rd in the Corner Conference Meet. Three runner-up finishes and a pair of third place showings were the top performances at conference. Derek Mueller (110 Highs), Seth Butler (Discus), and the Shuttle Hurdle relay team of Derek Mueller, Zane Vance, Josh Brownlee, and Brendan Atkinson earned silvers. Butler was 3rd in the shot and the 4X800 with Zane Vance, Jayden Amend, Colten Tasto, and Adam Houser also placed 3rd.
Golf
Brock Wallace finished 6th in the conference while Caleb Oakleaf tied for 11th and Nick Freund tied for 13th. The team was 4th at the Corner Conference Tourney. Brock Wallace (50.00) and Connor Linn (58.14) both averaged in the 50’s per nine holes and were a consistent #1 and #2 in the lineup with Caleb Oakleaf often times contributing the team’s 3rd score.
2019 Summer Sports
Baseball
Griswold notched only one win on the season, it came in a game that aired on KSOM in the form of a 5-2 decision over Essex. Josh Brownlee struck out eight batters and allowed just four hits to earn the win on the mound in 5 2/3 innings. Evan Kelly and Josh Brownlee each had two hits and two runs scored in the victory. The team had just four total upperclassmen with three seniors and one junior.

Football
The Tigers went 0-9, but scored 40 or more points four times. Their season high was 54 in a Week 6 loss to Stanton. Derek Mueller ranked 11th in the state in rushing yards.

The Tigers didn’t have enough runners to comprise a team score. Jaden Amend was 61st, Jeremy Sheeder 62nd, and Adam Houser 81st at the State Qualifying Meet in Mount Ayr.
2019-20 Winter Sports
Wrestling
Sam Olson was the lone Tiger to advance past the sectional round. The junior was one win away from the state tournament at 195 pounds. Seth Butler posted a strong season at 220 pounds. Only five wrestlers saw varsity matches according to trackwrestling.

Basketball
Griswold won four games with three of the four coming against Essex. The most impressive victory came on January 18th when they held the Trojans to just 15 points. The team’s highest offensive output came in a 59-48 loss to Red Oak on December 14th. Only two seniors were on the team, one of which was in his first season playing basketball.
