(Massena) The Massena City Council recently sent out a survey to residents asking them to rank the top ten tax increment financing proposals under consideration.
City Councilman Doug Venteicher says the city council is seeking community input before moving forward with some of these projects.
The ten proposed projects include:
*Street improvement
*Splash Pool
*Water Main Replacement
*Additional City Park Improvements
*New Water Treatment Plant
*Community Building
*Storm Tube Installation
*Walking Trail
*Additional Ball Field Improvements
*Affordable New Housing
The surveys are due April 30. Residents are to return them in the drop box at the city clerk’s office.
The City Council met remotely on Monday and approved the installation of electronic speed limit signs on Main Street, and east of town.
In other activities, the Council secured a 2.3-acre easement around the new lagoon project. USDA is funding the two-million-dollar plus project with a 40-year, 2.5 percent loan for $925,000, and a grant for $927,000. Officials expect the project to be completed in August 2021.
