(Stuart) Two men face multiple charges following a report of a shooting incident in Stuart.
According to the report, Stuart Police responded to a call of several shots fired at 615 SW. 7th at around 11:00 p.m. Saturday. When Officer’s arrived, they found fresh shell casings and determined the shots originated close to the front door of apartment #6. Officers could hear people arguing inside that apartment and discovered three adults and several children inside. Additionally, officers found two handguns, one believed to be stolen, and marijuana. Police learned one of the male subjects fired several shots from one of the handguns which led to the shots fired call.
Officers arrested two men. They’re identified as Tyrone Anthony Morris and Danielson D. Allen-Harris.
Authorities charged Tyrone Anthony Morris with; Trafficking a Weapon, Reckless Use of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by Felon, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Assault on a Peace Officer.
Danielson D. Allen-Harris faces charges of; Trafficking a Weapon, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Assault on a Peace Officer.
Authorities booked both suspects into the Adair County Jail.
During the arrest, one of the subjects became combative and assaulted a Stuart Police Officer and damaged a Sheriff’s Department vehicle.
The incident remains under investigation, and additional charges may be filed, dismissed, or altered at a later date.
Charges are accusations based on probable cause. Both suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Deputies from the Adair and Guthrie County Sheriff’s Offices and Iowa State Troopers assisted on the scene.
