Football
CAM was a one possession loss away from going to the Dome. Behind a veteran group of lineman and a do it all back the Cougars experienced a breakout year. Ben Tibken, Ethan Steffensen, and Ethan Fast paved the way for Lane Spieker who totaled 38 touchdowns in his sophomore season. CAM went 8-3 with two of their losses being to eventual state runner-up Audubon by a combined 11 points. Their other loss was to Coon Rapids-Bayard on a game that went down to the final horn, 32-26.

Cross Country
Ethan Follman had a strong year at the front of the pack for CAM. The sophomore was the Rolling Valley Conference individual champion. The team placed 3rd at the RVC Meet. Walker Gettler, Cale Maas, Carson Cary, and Wyatt Gettler rounded out the varsity runners.
Winter Sports
Basketball
CAM grabbed everyone’s attention, including voters in the AP rankings, by winning their first seven games. A very balanced lineup allowed the team to win ten straight games late in the season. The Cougars advanced all the way to a district final where they lost to eventual state qualifier Martensdale-St. Marys. CAM finished 19-5 overall and was the runner-up to Boyer Valley in the Rolling Valley Conference standings. Five players had at least 50 assists on the season.

Wrestling (Shared program with Atlantic)
Despite having just two seniors the Trojan program didn’t experience much-if any-of a drop off. The team went 15-4 in duals including 9-1 against conference opponents to split the Hawkeye Ten title with Harlan and Creston/O-M. Atlantic/CAM finished as the runner-up to Creston/O-M in the Hawkeye Ten Conference Tournament. Easton O’Brien, Aybren Moore, Kadin Stutzman, and Cale Roller won individual conference championships. Four wrestlers qualified for state and Cale Roller earned a medal. The senior heavyweight capped off his career with a 4th place finish. Easton O’Brien, Aybren Moore, and Joe Weaver were the other three state qualifiers.

2019 Golf
CAM was the runner-up at the Rolling Valley Conference Golf Tournament. Ben Tibken placed 2nd individually and Logan Lawrence was 8th. Tibken qualified for the state tournament. Sammi Jahde and Ben Tibken competed at the co-ed state meet and shot an 85.

2019 Track
DeShawn Carr broke 11.5 in the 100, Jacob Holste went 6’2″ in the high jump, Connor McKee stood out in the hurdles, and Mitchell Williamson approached 50 feet in the shot put. CAM was the Rolling Valley Conference runner-up and Mitchell Williamson broke the conference record on his way to the shot put title with a throw of 49-10.5. The shuttle hurdle relay of Colby Rich, Kolby Nelson, Jacob Holste, and Connor McKee was also a winner at the conference meet. The team sent seven events to state.

Summer Sports
Baseball
CAM’s 24-6 record marked the 4th straight year with at least 20 wins. They were the runner-up to state qualifier Coon Rapids-Bayard in the Rolling Valley Conference standings. CAM’s offense hit double figures in runs 15 times including 21-0 and 23-0 wins over Griswold and Glidden-Ralston, respectively. The team posted five shutouts on the season and held 17 opponents to three runs or less.
