(Atlantic) The Hawkeye Ten Conference All-Academic Team and Character award winners have been released.
Twenty-two students from the 11 conference schools are selected each year based on Academics, Leadership, Character, Extra and Co-Curricular Recognitions, and School/Community Service. Students who are nominated must have a minimum composite ACT score of 29 or SAT score of 1200 to be eligible. Each student nominated must complete an application to the Hawkeye 10 selection committee.
Each Hawkeye 10 school has at least one student on the All-Academic team provided they have a nomination who meets the criteria. The remaining team members are selected based on the total points awarded during the screening process. The Screening Committee will consist of the President, Vice President, and Secretary of the Board of Control and one non-school person to be chosen by the President.
In addition to that, each school chose one student to receive the Character Award. This award goes to the student from each school who exhibits good character in Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, Citizenship, Overcoming Obstacles, Making Difficult Choices, Generosity, and Self-Sacrifice, and Community Service.
