AHSTW Volleyball
The Lady Vikes established several records in the 2019 season. Paige Osweiler set single match, single season, and career digs records. Setting kills records for a single match, single season, and career was Kinsey Scheffler. Scheffler received All-State honors and Osweiler was named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association All-District Team. They went 20-14 on the season.

Cross Country
AHSTW came home from the state meet in Fort Dodge with a team trophy as the 3rd place finishers in Class 1A. Ryann Portch had a great performance at state with a 10th place run. It was the second time in the last three years they had qualified as a team for state. The Lady Vikes won the state qualifying meet at Mount Ayr. They were the Western Iowa Conference runner-up with three individuals in the top ten at the WIC Meet. Julia Kock was 7th, Chloe Falkena 8th, and Holly Hoepner 10th at conference.

Winter Sports
Basketball
For the first time in 20 years the team won the Western Iowa Conference championship. The Lady Vikes went 20-4 and advanced all the way to a Regional Final where they were ousted by conference foe Logan-Magnolia in a game that came down to the last second. Kinsey Scheffler reached 1,000 career points and Kailey Jones broke the program’s single season rebounding record.

2019 Track
It was a very successful year for coach Jenny Hamilton’s program with an 11th place finish at state. Throughout the course of the season the Lady Vikes had several different events that ranked among the top ten in the state for Class 1A. Thrower Kinsey Scheffler has committed to Omaha for track and field while mid-distance standout Ryann Portch will continue her career at Hawkeye Community College. Both are seniors in 2020.

2019 Soccer
AHSTW posted a record of 6-7. The team was three games above .500 at one point, but suffered consecutive losses to Nodaway Valley, Kuemper Catholic, Harlan, and Tri-Center late in the year. They posted three shutouts along the way and had a season high of ten goals in a win against Riverside in late April.

2019 Golf
Outside of Emma Jorgensen the team was made up of mostly varsity newcomers. Jorgensen led the team in average per nine holes at 50.8 and had a season best of 46.

The Lady Vikes raced out to a 7-2 start and finished at 12-11. They’ll bring almost everyone back for the upcoming season as Katie Anzalone was the lone senior last year.
