2019 Football
One year after finishing as the state runner-up, the Viking’s run of 12 consecutive years in the playoffs came to an end. They finished 5-4. All but one of their losses was to a team that made the postseason. Raydden Grobe was selected to the Iowa Print Sports Writer’s Association All-State Team in Class A.

2019-20 Wrestling
Led by a very strong group of seniors the AHSTW wrestlers turned in an impressive season. The Vikings were a regional dual qualifier and very narrowly missed out on a spot in the state duals. Hayden Fischer, Jaedan Rasmussen, Denver Pauley, Gavyn Fischer, and Brady Canada all wrestled at the state tourney. Gavyn Fischer earned a 7th place medal.

2019-20 Basketball
The Vikings combined solid veterans with some impressive young talent to produce a 17-5 record. Among the bigger wins were two close games against Tri-Center which allowed them to finish as the runner-up to Treynor in the Western Iowa Conference. Coach GG Harris recorded his 100th career win on January 31st when they topped Logan-Magnolia 61-48.

Spring Sports
2019 Track
Drake Partridge made for a memorable state meet with his wins in the 100 and 200. The Vikings had a smaller roster, but still made their presence known at Drake Stadium. Sprints were a strength for the team all year with Partridge running season bests of 11.10 in the 100 and 22.34 in the 200. Joey Cunningham, Korbin Martin, and JJ Madsen all made big contributions in the sprints while Cody Roskens, Jack Burns, and Collin Shutters were the regulars in the distance events.

2019 Soccer
The Vikings have emerged as a team to beat in the area in recent years. Led by 14 seniors, they went 18-3 in 2019 with a loss to Greene County in a substate final. The team established several new program records and Brayton Tuma became the Viking’s all-time leader in goals. Over the last three years they have gone 44-7.

2019 Golf
Lane Nelson was the teams’s top performer. He averaged 46.5 strokes per nine holes with a season low of 41. Jordan Jacobsen put in some good rounds as well and finished with an average of 48.40. Garrison Getttler, Denver Pauley, Kyle Jorgensen, Jace Peterson, and Jackson Woltmann all saw varsity action.
Summer Sports
2019 Baseball
The team had their ups and downs during the regular season, but was undoubtedly playing their best ball at the end of the year. The Vikings won five straight games before running into very strong St. Albert squad in the district tournament. Mostly juniors led the way as Gabe Madsen was the only senior on the entire squad. Sam Porter has committed to play baseball at Simpson and Joel Sampson signed with Southwestern Community College.
