(Atlantic) COVID-19 has changed much of our daily routine, but delivering mail and packages is not one of those changes.
The United States Postal Service has adopted some procedures to promote social distancing to help keep citizens and postal service employees safe.
If your delivery requires a signature, Carriers will knock on the door rather than ring the doorbell. They’ll maintain a safe distance, and instead of ask for a signature on the mobile device, they will ask for your first initial and last name. Carriers will leave the package in a safe place for the recipient to retrieve it. Don’t try to take a package directly from a carrier and give them the time to walk away before collecting it.
The CDC, WHO as well the Attorney General indicated COVID-19 is not spread through packages.
