(Des Moines) The average price of gasoline in Iowa dropped .12-cents this week. The current average price across the state is $1.88 per gallon. This is $.70 cents lower than one year ago.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate by $.61 per barrel over this past week, currently priced at $23.58. Brent crude oil rose $.84 and is currently priced at $23.58. One year ago, West Intermediate crude sold for $58.82 and Brent crude was at $67.37.
The national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $2.09 down $.13 from last week’s price.
Retail diesel prices fell $.09 in Iowa this week with a statewide average of $2.41 per gallon. That’s compared to $2.95 in Iowa one year ago. The current Iowa diesel price is $.24 less than the national average of $2.65.
Wholesale ethanol prices fell $.06, currently at $.90.
Propane prices fell $.04 with a statewide average of $1.14 per gallon. Home heating oil prices fell $.20, with a statewide average of $1.69 per gallon, and natural gas prices rose $.06 at the Henry Hub reporting site and currently priced at $1.67/MMbtu.
