(Atlantic) The Iowa Fire Fighters Association called on all Iowa Fire Departments to open their fire station doors this evening and turn on their truck lights as a sign of strength and hope for all.
The Atlantic Fire Department answered the call and invited the Atlantic Police Department, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Medivac Ambulance, and Cass County Emergency Management to take part this evening.
‘The IFA encouraged all Fire Departments to open up their doors and turn on the truck lights as a sign of strength and hope,” explained Atlantic Fire Chief Tom Cappel. “The lights signal hope for all who work daily in EMS, fire and law enforcement and strength for those working around the clock to provide care, those who strive to fight the right medicine to help, those in the food and grocery industry to feed us and those trucking daily to keep us going.
“These are trying times, and people are uncertain about what’s going on, and we want everyone to know that we’re going to get through this, and we’re going to get through this together,” stated Cappel. “On behalf of the Atlantic Fire Fighters, we wish to thank the staff at CCHS for all they’re doing on the front line to protect citizens in the fight against COVID-19.”
