(Atlantic) The Heritage House in Atlantic has introduced a Chatter Box to keep loved ones connected during this difficult time.
Kennedy Plowman, Sales Director at the Heritage House, said they have been focusing on how they can continue to spread joy so the activities team came up with the idea to start the Chatter Box where families can come see their loved ones through a window.
“On each side of this window each family member and resident will have a phone and they can talk to one another and they can see one another,” said Plowman. “We understand social distancing is kind of difficult, but this Chatter Box gives them an awesome opportunity to see one another and talk to one another and not feel like they’re distant at all.”
Family members should call and reserve a time to make sure your loved one can get down to the Chatter Box and get set up with a phone before you arrive. There is a Chatter Box in the Health Center as well as the Assisted Living.
“We’re really thankful that our teams here at Heritage House are doing a great job to find creative solutions and continue to spread that joy. While we’re all looking forward to the time we can meet face-to-face again, we’re just proud of our families and residents for really understanding that our primary goal is to keep the residents here healthy and safe,” said Plowman. “Our families have been so great at taking lemons and making them into lemonade and really taking light of the situation and finding ways to continue to be happy and continue to keep in touch with them.”
