(Des Moines) The first go around of severe weather swept through southwest Iowa late Thursday afternoon. The National Weather Service issued warnings for Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, Pottawattamie, Adams, Page, southeastern Cass, and Union counties.
*Reports of .88 inch hail along with 40-50 mile per hour winds, (with small limbs down) at around 5:10 p.m. in Corning in Adams County.
*The public reported .88 inch hail in Red Oak at 5:50 p.m.
*Montgomery County Emergency Management reported 2.00 inch hail in Red Oak at 5:53 p.m.
*The public reported 1.25 inch hail one mile north of Red Oak at 5:59 p.m.
