(Avoca) AHSTW School has moved their Prom to June 13th.
Superintendent Darin Jones said at this time they don’t know when they’ll be able to return to school so they’re trying to be a little bit proactive. He said they have delayed their Prom that was scheduled for April 25th to Saturday, June 13th.
“We changed the date just to allow people to plan appropriately, all parties; students, staff, community. We just thought that was the right thing to do to help people out in this situation and we sure want to keep things as normal as we possibly can, but understand that people need some time on things so we want to give that to them,” explained Jones.
Jones said they are also looking at graduation. He said right now they’re NOT planning to change their graduation from the original date, but they do have an alternative date set for June 7thif needed.
Jones said they will keep everybody as updated as they can.
“Please understand that this is an ever-evolving situation and we’re trying to make the best decisions we can with the information we have at hand and we will try to limit our communications so that we’re not overloading family members, but when we do share those communications we will have multiple communications in there,” stated Jones.
