Eleanor Mae Hemminger was born January 24, 1928, to Ellsworth and Sadie (Deitchler) Jones in Silver City, Iowa. On January 24, 1945, she married
Dale Keith McClure (of Malvern, Iowa) in Glenwood, Iowa. They had one son, Gary, and lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa, for 45 years. In 1990, Keith and
Eleanor moved to Harlan, Iowa, to live close to Gary (Pat) McClure and their grandchildren. Eleanor and Keith celebrated 50 years of marriage before
Keith’s passing in 1995.
Eleanor married Harvey Hemminger in 1997; they were married for three years before Harvey’s passing in 2000.
For 30 years, Eleanor was involved in many church and social activities and was blessed by the many friends in Harlan.
Eleanor is survived by two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one sister and one stepsister, and many friends.
A private graveside service for immediate family is scheduled for a later date at the Silver City Cemetery, Silver City.
