(Elk Horn) The Exira-EHK School District released an update on the COVID-19 pandemic on Sunday to parents, guardians, students, and community members.
Following the press conference of Governor Kim Reynolds on Saturday the District is limiting outside visitors until they have a better grasp on what is happening in their area. Only students, staff, and those approved by administration will be allowed access to the buildings during the school day. Parent/Teacher conferences will be conducted by phone and e-mail only. They are scheduled for Monday and Thursday evening from 4:30-7:30. The Washington D.C. trip has been postponed. The District is working with the the travel company WorldStrides to find a possible make up date and options. There will not be a parent meeting on Monday.
Elderly and individuals with compromised immune systems are being urged to stay home or away from large gatherings, a meeting with Mr. Parmley will be held on Monday morning to discuss options for the school Musical, all other field trips will be canceled and/or postponed for the foreseeable future, and KFC at the Elementary has been canceled.
