(Audubon) The Audubon School Board approved some staffing changes for FY21 at their meeting Monday.
Superintendent Eric Trager said they will be looking for a ½ time social worker in both Audubon and Coon Rapids-Bayard school districts.
“We’re just trying to improve the amount of mental health services and the quality of mental health services that we’re able to offer students and families and so after a lot of discussion with my Administration in both districts that seemed like a position that could help us out and so we’re going to be advertising for that here soon,” explained Trager.
Trager said they also added a ½ time Interventionist who will also serve as a ½ time Title I Teacher at the Middle School.
“That’s through our Teacher Leadership Grant, that will be primarily paid for, so that will be a person that works with data, works with our test data and our screening data, and then works toward developing effective interventions with kids that move them forward,” said Trager.
The third position they’ve added is an Assistant FFA Advisor.
“We’ve got like 110 kids in FFA and one person trying to manage all of that. They’re extremely active and so we’re going to try get our Ag teacher some help with the FFA activities,” explained Trager.
